A registered peripheral model runs in the engine: the firmware talks to it over the real bus and gets device-accurate responses.
Single-bit bidirectional level translator (core/configs/devices/74lvc1t45.yaml), 4 ns. ⚠️ THE TRANSLATION IS A NO-OP: VCCA/VCCB is the reason this part exists and this engine has no voltage domains, so only the direction and the isolation are simulated — a board a missing translator would break still runs here.
